14th-place finish in Fireball 50 at Atomic Speedway

Brandon Overton was one of 28 Late Models on hand at Atomic Speedway (Alma, Ohio) on Thursday evening for the second round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America. Coming in second in his heat race behind Devin Moran, Overton locked into the fourth starting position for the $22,000-to-win Fireball 50. The following night at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Ky.) for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series-sanctioned event, Brandon dropped two spots in his heat race to finish third. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Overton passed five cars in the 40-lapper to finish seventh.

An unfavorable forecast nixed Saturday’s night World of Outlaws stop at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio).
