Pair of Top-5 finishes at Port Royal Speedway

Brandon Overton made the trek to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Friday afternoon to enter the Wells and Sons Motorsports No. 76 Late Model into competition for the weekend doubleheader. Drawing 43 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Brandon followed up the second fastest time in his group behind Chris Madden with an eight-lap heat race victory. Unable to dethrone race-long pacesetter Chris Madden in the 40-lap feature, Overton notched a runner-up finish with Brandon Sheppard, Rick Eckert, and Tyler Bruening rounding out the Top-5. For the Billy Vacek Memorial on Saturday, Overton secured his spot into the $15,000-to-win finale with a heat race win. After setting the pace for the first half of the race, Brandon lost to lead to Chris Madden on lap 29 amid lapped-traffic. He went on to place fourth, following Madden, Rick Eckert, and Dan Stone to the checkers with Ryan Gustin coming in fifth.
