Recording his 25th win of the 2021 campaign, Brandon Overton conquered the field in Saturday night’s inaugural Texas Dirt Nationals to pocket a $50,000 check in his Wells & Sons Motorsports No. 76 Crossfit Overton / Allstar Concrete/ Longhorn Chassis by Wells Motorsports/ Clements Racing Engines Inc.-powered Super Late Model. “I don’t think I’ve ever won 50-grand in 30 laps,” Overton said while soaking up more success in victory lane. “Just being patient. When the track does that, you just kind of gotta bide your time and make sure you don’t make no mistakes. I saw Devin (Moran) right there on the last lap, you know, try to make something happenow. It is what it is. It was just too latched up in the bottom and I was just trying to keep my distance from the lapped cars and make sure I didn’t get in there and scoot out of (the inside lane). We’ll take it. Just fortunate, like I said, everything keeps going our way and we’re going to ride it as long as we can.”

Wells Motorsports and Brandon Overton were back in action on Friday evening at Texas Motor Speedway (Fort Worth, Texas) as 33 Late Models were entered to do battle in the opening round of the inaugural Texas Dirt Nationals. After getting behind the eight ball in time trials, Overton secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature with a third-place finish in his heat. Passing six cars in the 25-lap affair, Brandon raced to a fourth-place finish. He followed Cade Dillard, Billy Moyer, and Stormy Scott to the checkers with Bobby Pierce in fifth.

On Saturday, Brandon topped his group in time trials before streaking to an eight-lap heat race win. Starting the $50,000-to-win feature in third, Overton wrestled away the lead from Stormy Scott on the third lap and held off Devin Moran’s challenge on the final circuit to capture his sixth win of the season worth $50,000 or more and 25th overall of the 2021 campaign. He finished ahead of Bobby Pierce, Stormy Scott, Devin Moran, and Michael Arnold in the 30-lapper.
