Brandon Overton
Runner-up finish in Ultimate SE visit at Natural Bridge
Wells Motorsports visited Natural Bridge Speedway (Natural Bridge, Va.) on Friday afternoon with Brandon Overton piloting the Allstar Concrete No. 76 Late Model for the Road to Jamaica. In a field of 19 Ultimate Southeast Series entries, Overton secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with the second-fastest qualifying effort. Unable to overtake race-long pacesetter Jensen Ford in the closing laps amid lapped traffic, Brandon notched a second-place finish with Logan Roberson rounding out the podium. For the annual Virginia is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth on Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Va.), Brandon clocked in fastest in his group before picking up a heat race win. Earning the pole position for the $20,000-to-win A-Main, Overton led lap 1-16 but contact with lapped car on the 17th circuit allowed Ross Bailes to sneak by. After pitting three laps later to swap a tire, Mother Nature shortened the 60-lapper to 23 circuits, dropping Overton to 19th on the rundown.
