With 31 Late Models entered, Overton edged his way into the preliminary feature with a third-place finish in his heat. With $15,000 on the line, Brandon faded one spot in the 30-lapper to finish 11th.
For the second round of the E3 Spark Plugs Historic 100 on Saturday, Overton topped his time trial group in qualifying before placing first in his heat. Starting the $50,000-to-win A-Main in second, Brandon carried a steady pace in the 100-lapper to finish second. He followed race-long pacesetter Jonathan Davenport across the line with Earl Pearson Jr. rounding out the podium.
