13th-place finish in World 100 prelim at Eldora Speedway
In a commemorative wrap honoring Ed Basey, Brandon Overton entered the Wells Motorsports No. 76 Late Model into battle at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday afternoon for a pair of prelims to kick off the 53rd annual World 100 weekend.
After racing into his prelim opener with a third-place finish in his heat, Overton faded to finish 17th in the 25-lapper.
For another round of $12,000-to-win preliminary features on Friday, Brandon followed up the 17th-fastest qualifying effort in his time trial group with a fifth-to-second run in his heat. Moving forward three spots in his 25-lap prelim, Overton posted a 13th-place finish.
On Saturday, Overton secured his spot into the $56,000-to-win World 100 finale with a runner-up finish in his consolation race. He was scored 22nd in the final rundown after retiring on lap 43.
