Top-10 finish with Schaeffer's Spring Nationals at Waycross
Despite Mother Nature wiping out two of his slated events over the weekend, Brandon Overton was able to compete in a pair of events aboard his Wells and Sons Motorsports No. 76 Late Model.
For the opening round of the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals tour on Thursday at Waycross Motor (Ga) Speedway, Overton backed up the third-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a seventh-place outing in the 40-lap feature.
After Friday’s stop at Swainsboro (GA) Raceway and Saturday’s Spring Nationals weekend finale at Senoia (Ga) Raceway fell to wet weather, Brandon wrapped up his weekend on Sunday at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned Ginger Owens Memorial March Madness.
Starting the $20,000-to-win A-Main in sixth via time trial results, Overton suffered a flat right-front tire while running second in closing laps of the 50-lapper, resulting in a DNF.
