Overton climbs to second in Hunt the Front outing at Ultimate Motorsports Park
Brandon Overton and the Wells Motorsports team followed the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series to Ultimate Motorsports Park (Elkin, N.C.) over the weekend for Friday’s opener.
With a heat race victory placing him on the front row for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Overton avoided a chaotic early start to the 40-lapper to secure a podium finish. He made a late pass to take second, chasing Sam Seawright to the checkers with Wil Herrington coming in third.
Saturday's $20,000-to-win Buddy Crook Memorial at Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway fell to wet weather.
Overton holds a 24-point advantage atop the latest Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series point standings.
