Brandon Overton places fifth in Harold Hardgrove Memorial at Lake Cumberland
Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series point leader resumed competition on Friday with the two-day Harold Hardgrove Memorial at Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.).
Chasing a $5,000 preliminary payday in Friday’s opener, Overton rallied to 12th in the 30-lapper after a pair of visits to the infield hot-pit.
On Saturday, Brandon raced his way into Saturday’s $15,000-to-win finale with a runner-up finish in his heat. Starting in sixth, Overton muscled forward one spot to register a fifth-place finish. He chased Camaron Marlar, Ashton Winger, Zack Mitchell, and Tanner English to the checkers.
Overton holds a 68-point lead atop the latest Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series point standings.
