Overton tops Bama Bash at Talladega Short Track

After Friday’s event fell to persistent rain, Brandon Overton was one of 46 Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series entries signed in at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Saturday for the tour opener.

Aboard his Wells Motorsports No. 76 entry, Overton clocked in second-fastest in his 23-car group before placing first in his eight-lap heat. Regaining the lead from Josh Putnam on the third circuit of the feature, Brandon paced the remainder of the 50-lapper to claim his second win of the season and the $15,000 top prize. He led all but one lap of the Bama Bash A-Main, en route to his first series triumph ahead of Cory Hedgecock, Chris Ferguson, Josh Putnam, and Michael Page.
